The Place of the Skull. From Mark Hess. ADD TO WISHLIST > Watermarked PDF. $ A princess has been kidnapped, the characters must save her by traveling over barren wastes and infiltrating a strange fortress of unknown origin. Within, weird tech, mutants, and evil swords abound.   Why is the “place of the skull” so important when three of the four Gospels mention Golgotha? Inquiring minds long before ago answered that question! It may not be because the rock formation resembles a skull. It may have deeper meaning. Perhaps as some church fathers believed, Adam is buried on Calvary. In this book, that contention is Pages:

Openings through the skull in the floor of the middle fossa include the optic canal and superior orbital fissure, which open into the posterior orbit, the foramen rotundum, foramen ovale, and foramen spinosum, and the exit of the carotid canal with its underlying foramen lacerum.   It’s called the Place of the Skull, we’re told. Κρανίου Τόπος. Everything converges on this place, as a figure hangs from a cross sunk into the Skull, a hill so named on account of its pock-marked appearance or after its popularity as a site for public executions.

Golgotha (skull), the Hebrew name of the spot at which our Lord was crucified.(Matthew ; Mark ; John ) By these three evangelists it is interpreted to mean the "place of a skull."Two explanations of the name are given: (1) that it was a spot where executions ordinarily took place, and therefore abounded in skulls; or(2) it may come from the look or form of the spot itself, bald.   To give even further credence to this argument, Hall also mentioned Golgotha in his book, Man, the Grand Symbol of the Mysteries, and that it represented a burial place, as well as a skull, “The Hebrew word Gulgoleth (Golgotha), which means both a skull and a burial place” (Manly P. Hall, Man, the Grand Symbol of the Mysteries, , p. ).
